PASSAGE

p4.png

Passage hints at the intertwining and ever-changing relationships that mankind, the mechanical and nature all have with one another.

It is a sculptural installation of a man, in a captive gesture of leisurely walking while his hand sweeps through stalks of wheat.

Viewers may wonder … is this a man? Is it part robot? And what is the fine line between each that exists in modern day society?

Passage was created and installed at Burning Man in 2018. Two years later, it was installed at Paradise Ridge Wineries, Santa Rosa, CA in 2020.  Currently it is on exhibit at RED Development Park in Reno, Nevada until 2025.

Passage hopes to open up a dialog about humanity and the advent of technology and mechanics. The wheat that grows beside him symbolizes abundance, life, fertility, food, and subsistence, without which we as a human race would not exist.

Where do these paths or passageways intersect?

Where are we going?
