Dana was commissioned to create two installations by the California Academy of Sciences. Both pieces encouraged visitors to participate in the creative process. 

PTERSAUR

Materials: Steel armature for base of entire sculpture, recycled bicycle tires for the head and body, Cast glass for eyes, Recycled glass and tiles for Crest, tail, tongue,  Dry cleaning bags, ironed layers for Wings, Crocheted plastic bags, plarn for bones.  

 

Dimensions:  10 feet high 15 feet wide 

CORAL REEF INSTALLATION

Materials: Recycled tiles, mirror, eyes-amber doorknobs, recycled rope- 12’ long, 2’ thick. Various Corals were made of: Recycled glass, tile, plastic bags, recycled netting, fishing line and yarn
